Agave parrasana ssp. Globe

This is a very special ssp of parrasana, which first appeared in the Huntington Botanical Garden at the end of the last century; the origin was unclear.

It is a more compact version of parrasana that does not get that big either: max 50 cm in diameter. Unlike parrasana, this plant tends to make many shoots (offsprings, pups) at the base, even if the plant is still small, so not only after flowering; the regular parrasana does not do that.

The plant stands out because of the beautiful color and the beautiful prints in the leaves of the new leaves that bend from the core.

The plant is very strong and hardy. Origin area is probably the mountains around Parras in central Coahuile, at an altitude of over 1800 meters.
