Yucca carnerosana

Big, impressive plant that occurs in the southern part of the Chihuahuan Desert, and in the area around Miquihuana where these specimens come from.

Can be 4-8 m high and usually has a single trunk of 20-30 cm. The green leaves are 40-70 cm long and 5 cm wide but can be 100 cm in cultivation and create a beautiful symmetrical head. They have a brown border from which very coarse hard white threads are curling. Y. carnerosana is hardy to -15 ° C, but must stay dry. Is often confused with Y. faxoniana, which occurs further north, among others in West Texas.yucca-carnerosana-in-the-field-2
