Yucca rostrata ssp. Norte de Coahuile 14, 140 cm, trunk 80 cm

235.00

Yucca rostrata native to northern Coahuile state, Mexico. It has somewhat narrower leaves than the specimens from the Cuatro Cienegas area.
This plant has been in the open ground with us for more than a year and has made a nice full crown. Now is a good time to plant it out in the garden or place it in a large pot on the patio. The plant is still in winter dormancy and can – now that it is spring – continue rooting in the open ground. To do this, use the soil it is currently potted in in the planting hole and then top it up with soil from the garden. The plant has no root ball; however, the fleshy roots it made in the open ground are still present. This time is a good time to transplant for further growth.
The head of this plant is quite large and thus heavy and wind-sensitive. Therefore, the plant should be stabilised, planted out in the open ground with a few heavy stones around the stem, or a short pole, until the plant is firmly established. Watering after planting out in the garden is not necessary.
